He did a triple pass-- one pass each with a 640, a 590, and a 560 filter, each time. He used a Lumenis One IPL machine. This did a great job of stopping the progression and turning back the clock. Still, I find I need maintenance treatments. Dr. Soldo recommended Dr. Steve Johnson in Sevierville TN for maintenance so I wouldn't have to fly to Arizona. (Dr. Soldo trained Dr. Johnson.) I like Dr. Johnson a lot. He does all the treatments himself. He has rosacea so he knows what we go through. He's good with his Lumenis One, he listens, he cares, he understands, and he has been a huge help to me. He's good at what he does! IPL has been wonderful for me. I have no more visible broken blood vessels on my face. Flushing has been greatly reduced. P&P's are now minor and occasional. Overall facial redness has been reduced to an occasional attractive pink. You would never know I had rosacea now, to look at me. IPL is expensive. It takes time to show results. Lots of folks have to keep going back for maintenance treatments. It's still possible to make me flush, it just takes warmer temps to do it. Overheated restaurants are a nightmare. When I first started IPL, I thought I'd found a cure, the difference was so striking. Now I see that I will always have rosacea, but IPL has made it manageable. It's reduced it to an inconvenience instead of a life wrecker. I've made other changes too. I no longer eat sugar, honey, cheese, pizza, or booze. I drink water all day, and find that it makes a really big difference in my skin. I also love the rosacea LTD disks-- I use them morning and night. I strongly recommend Dr. Johnson. I strongly recommend IPL, preferably with a modern IPL machine (the Lumenis One is the machine that made such a difference to me) and also, preferably by somebody who has successfully treated other rosaceans and knows what he/she is doing.
